Dear friends of One River Voices
Liberato Maraia our Film Director is passionately editing the final details of the video for One River Voices!
Next Sunday is the premiere and we will meet again. We will celebrate in the Schloss Köniz with a glass of wine, a beer or a cup of tea or coffee. We can re-live the experiences of the 7th of May while enjoying the premiere of the One River Voices video.
The video will then be launched online and we hope to inspire as many people as possible with our One River Voices idea. Our wish is that people all over the world repeat and experience what we all did two months ago and join us in calling out – I am a voice!
Join us next Sunday and bring your families, friends and neighbours with you: everyone is welcome!
Sunday 2nd July from 16h to 18h in the Schüür of the Schloss Köniz.
We are really looking forward to seeing you again!
Shirley and Clíodhna
PS. Follow us on Facebook! See you soon.

We are overwhelmed, fulfilled, inspired and grateful for the One River Voices experience! You were one of over 350 people involved in making this wonderful event happen. Whether you sang, played, or helped, you braved the cold, even some rain, in order to take part and help send a sign of positivity to the world. Each of you was a drop in the beautiful “River” we created together.
Our many voices became “One Voice”.
Many of you said you would like to help finance the project in some way. The event on the 7th of May was made possible by the enormous goodwill of the Kulturhof Köniz, by the many helpers, and by donations from some of the singers. One River Voices flows on and we are grateful for your financial support for the production and promotion the video in the coming months. If you would like to contribute to the cost of sharing our message, you can do so here:

The One River Voices journey continues.
Lots of audio files have to be sifted through, takes chosen, mixed, mastered, bounced and then there is 300GB of Film material that has to be looked through, scenes have to be chosen, cut, edited and finally made in to two videos, a ‘making of’ and a ‘music video’ that we hope to have ready for all of you to see and share by the end of June. We had two photographers on site. They too have to go through 6 hours of material! Over the next few weeks we will share with you many of the pictures that they took throughout the event.
And please, send us your videos and photos from Sunday and share your experiences of the day with us. Send them to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will upload as many as possible on www.facebook.com/Onerivervoices over the next couple of months.
We will stay in touch!
Keep on flowing!
Clíodhna, Shirley and Alex.
We have been trying to get in contact with the Sun Gods but we seem to have the wrong number! So, if you wake up Sunday morning and you look out the window, see a grey sky and feel the cool temperature, please don’t be discouraged. This just means that it will be up to all of us to create the warmth and light we will need for the one river voices event to be a fulfilling experience. We aim to sing for tolerance, respect and unity, no matter what the sun decides to do!
We will probably spend a lot of our time in the Schüür but we also really want to get to use the wonderful courtyard in the Schlosshof and will try to make that possible. Either way, wrap yourselves up really warm. The Schüür is not insulated but we will install a few Gas heating towers, provide lots of ‘one river voices’ tea, a hot meal and together we can sing all the clouds and the rain away!
We are excited and so very much looking forward to meeting each and every one of you!
See you tomorrow!
Clíodhna and Shirley and the One River Voices Team
This day next week we will get to spend a day together! We will sing together, eat together and make a video clip together. We can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday other than sending a united sign of tolerance and respect to the world! Thank you for being a part of this.
We have made a rough schedule for the day but because over 200 people are involved, there will always be an element of surprise….
On arrival at the Schlosshof all singers will gather to register for the event. You will be asked to sign a form which allows us to use all the film material gathered (camera and drone) on that day in order to make a ‘making of’ video clip of the event and a ‘music video’ clip.
We will begin rehearsals in the Schüür at 10am sharp. You will be given copies of the lyrics and/or sheet music and we will begin to sing!!! The entire rehearsal will be recorded and filmed. We hope to have a final recording of the Choir by 12am. Sounds fast, doesn’t it? But the song is easy and there are very little lyrics to be learned. (We can’t wait to hear 200 voices sing together!!)
Because the weather will be beautiful, we are planning to eat lunch together in the Schlosshof (if it’s not, then in the Schüür). Lunch is risotto, salads and bread. Lunch will also be filmed.
The video shoot for the ‘music video clip’ will begin just after lunch (ca. 2.00pm) and take until 16:30. We have a wonderful film director, Liberato Maraia, on board. He will guide us through the afternoon. We will all perform the song outside with the original band, string quartet and flute player. You are welcome to invite your friends, family, children, grandparents, people you haven’t seen in years and the neighbour you don’t like, to join the party in the afternoon and hear what we have created. Maybe they will even sing along.
We are truly looking forward to meeting and connecting with every single one of you!
Shirley and Clíodhna
Welcome to all who have registered as a helper and / or singer for the One River Voices project!
About 200 people from different cultures from all over the world will join us on May 7th in Schloss Köniz to sing the song "One River". Singing connects us. We are "OneRiverVoices", a team of concerned people who want to send a message of unity, respect and tolerance to the world.
The general plan for Sunday 7th May 2017:
Meet between 9:30am and 10am in front of the Schüür in the Schlosshof Köniz, followed by a rehearsal of the song "One River". Don’t worry, the text and song are easy to learn even if you consider yourself not to be a singer! When we are ready, the song will be recorded and we will have lunch. Risotto, salads and bread will be waiting for us in the courtyard, free of charge.
Around 14h we will go outside to sing with others coming to celebrate the day with us. (if it rains we return inside).
Bring your families, friends, and neighbours to join us for the afternoon - everyone is invited to sing along in the courtyard!
The day will end around 17h with coffee and cake and time to relax.
There will be a camera-man accompanying us throughout the day and the creative director Liberato Maraia will produce a music video using the day’s imagery to present the idea of "OneRiverVoices". The video will be released on the internet in late June. People around the world will be able to download lyrics, notes, Playback for free, and even organise and experience a OneRiverVoices day.
Who knows, maybe the message continues to flow around the world ...?!
Our "OneRiverVoices" choir already includes more than 100 men and women. Most of the respondents are European. We are currently speaking with the House of Religion and many international institutions in Bern and the surrounding area to encourage more foreigners to register.
If you know people with migration background, tell them about our intention, ask them not to be shy, but to come and join us for this wonderful day on May 7th.
Also please let us know how many people will accompany you.
Thanks a lot.
If you have registered as a helper, we will be contacting you personally regarding the organisation of the day. We need help with the installation and decoration, the lunch buffet, the drinks bar and the clearing up. Let us know your preferences.
We look forward to seeing you
Clíodhna and Shirley
